Learn about the available payment methods, the billing flows, and why Montu centralizes all payments to ensure security and compliance in every collaboration.
💼 Where are Work Orders paid?
All Work Orders (ODTs) are paid exclusively through Montu.
You should never transfer money directly to a content creator. This ensures transparency, protection for both parties and proper compliance with the agreed terms.
💳 How can you pay for ODTs?
There are three ways to pay for your Work Orders:
-
Upfront payment through MercadoPago:
Ideal for immediate payments. You can use a credit card, debit card or MercadoPago account.
-
Payment with Montu credits:
If you have a balance in your Montu Wallet, you can use it directly to pay for ODTs.
-
Monthly invoice (Enterprise plans only):
Customers on Enterprise plans can choose to pay all their ODTs at the end of the month with a consolidated closing invoice.
⏳ When are ODTs paid?
ODTs must be paid before they're sent to the creator.
This means the collaboration can't move forward until the payment is confirmed.
Once the payment is made, the system holds the amount until:
- The creator delivers all the required content.
- The brand reviews, approves and completes the order.
✅ Only then is the payment released to the content creator.
🧾 How does billing work?
Montu issues an electronic invoice for each ODT when the order is completed by the brand.
You can find all your invoices in:
Settings > Billing ("Configuración > Facturación")
💡 If you need an additional copy or want to change your billing details, you can do it from that same menu.
🚫 What happens if I don't pay for an ODT?
If you select the Pay later ("Pagar después") option when creating an ODT, it will stay in Pending payment ("Pendiente de pago") status.
It won't be sent to the creator until the payment is completed.
Creators can't accept or see unpaid ODTs.
By centralizing all payments in Montu, we ensure a reliable, traceable and professional experience for everyone involved in the campaign.
