Learn how to create an affiliate program in Montu, step by step, from connecting your store to setting commissions, discounts and gifts.
To start working with affiliates, you first need to connect your Shopify or WooCommerce store. If you haven't done that yet, see the related article:

🧭 Step by step: create your program
- From the Main Dashboard, click the Affiliates ("Afiliados") section (left sidebar).
- Click the New Program ("Nuevo Programa") button.
🔌 Connect your store
If your store isn't connected yet:
- Click the Shopify or WooCommerce icon.
- Follow the connection flow.
- Once it's connected, you can continue creating the program.
- If your store is already connected, just click Next.
📝 Set up your program

Program name
Choose a clear, descriptive name. For example: "Summer 2026 Ambassadors Program".

Start date
When activity starts being tracked. This date defines when sales linked to the codes start being counted.

End date (optional)
If you want to limit how long the program runs, you can set an automatic end date.
🎯 Choose what you want to promote
Decide whether your program applies to:
- Your whole store
- A specific collection
- A single product
Important: Discount coupons and commissions only apply to what you select here.
🎁 Welcome gift
You can offer your affiliates an initial incentive:
- None
- One or more products from your store
- A gift card (enter the amount and conditions)
This is delivered once they accept the invitation to the program.
💸 Set commissions and discount
Define:
- The commission % the affiliate earns on each sale.
- The discount % their coupon gives buyers.
The commission is calculated on the net amount of the sale (excluding VAT (IVA) and shipping).
The discount applies to the product price.
✅ Finish
Click Create program ("Crear programa") and you're done.
Your program will be active and you can start inviting affiliates directly from Montu.
